一般注記 The Philippine Museum (founded in 1901) and the Philippine Library (founded in 1909) were merged in 1916 to form the Philippine Library and Museum. In 1928 the Philippine Library and Museum was divided to form the National Museum of the Philippine Islands and the National Library. The museum was abolished in 1932 and its functions were divided between the National Library and the Bureau of Science. In 1947 the museum was reestablished under the name National Museum and the name of the National Library was changed to Bureau of Public Libraries. The name of the Bureau of Public Libraries was changed to Bureau of the National Museum, which was again abolished. When the National Museum was reestablished in 1952 or 3, the Bureau of Public Libraries and Museum was renamed Bureau of Public Libraries. In 1964 the name of the bureau was changed back to National Library
